I served as a hospital corpsman with H&S Company, 2^nd Battalion, 1^st Marines from November 1968 to August 1969.

My rank on arrival was HM1, then I was promoted to HMC. About three weeks later I received a commission as an Ensign, Medical Service Corps, U. S. Navy.

I have always treasured my service with the Marine Corps finest.
